We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering for a well-established upscale full-service hotel located in Silicon Valley near San Jose. Must have 5+ years of Engineering leadership and management experience, preferably at a well-established full-service California hotel with multiple amenities. Must have 10+ years of overall engineering and maintenance experience. Highly prefer candidates who reside in Silicon Valley or nearby.  Conduct inspections and visually assess the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of the entire physical structure of the Hotel, including all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and other related equipment.  Monitor and facilitate prescribed safety programs and emergency plans. Mentor and train all Engineers on safety, Cal/OSHA and all regulatory compliance, R&M techniques and energy conservation.  Actively participate in all routine and preventative maintenance programs. Maintain effective energy management and preventative maintenance programs throughout the hotel and conduct specific training for all operating departments on the safe and efficient use of equipment and energy. Develop, implement and manage the Engineering Department’s annual budget and weekly forecasts. Anticipate and respond to guest issues and establish proactive processes to promote superior guest service. Prefer ability to speak a second language, ideally Spanish. Reports directly to General Manager. Base salary to $115K plus 20% bonus payable in quarterly installments.
