Director of Sales, East Coast

We are seeking a highly experienced and successful Director of Sales to lead and direct a 4-member sales team toward achieving its annual sales goals at a highly acclaimed health and wellness spa retreat located on East Coast.  Must have 3+ years of sales leadership experience at an upscale boutique hotel, resort or destination spa.  Must have considerable knowledge and experience in the health and wellness travel industry, including current market trends and related economic factors.  Direct and manage all group activities to maximize on-property revenue.   Ensure the accurate production of annual and monthly sales forecasts, annual sales budget, monthly closing reports, lead generation reports, group booking pace reports, and sales department meeting minutes.  Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients.  Initiate preparation of quarterly smart plans per segmentation against group goals.  Manage group rates and group sales deployment strategies via thorough review of competitive data and demand analysis.  Work closely with DOM to develop and implement group and transient loyalty programs or repeat business.  Hires, mentors and trains sales and event planning managers ensuring competence in all sales aspects.  Generates sales teams’ annual goals and monitors progress.  Oversees weekly sales meetings.  Reports to General Manager.  Annual base salary of $70K-$95K plus attractive commission schedule and some relocation reimbursement. May work remotely with visits to the property every other week.
